Meet Susan Crimmins, a seasoned Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with over 25 years of experience in behavioral health, clinical leadership, and trauma-informed care. A graduate of Boston College, Susan began her career in long-term residential substance abuse treatment, first working with men in East Boston and later with women in Dorchester, Massachusetts. These early experiences laid the foundation for her deep commitment to equity, recovery, and systems-based healing.
Susan earned her Master’s in Clinical Social Work from Simmons College Graduate School of Social Work in Boston, and later completed a prestigious psychiatric fellowship at the Menninger Clinic in Topeka, Kansas. Most recently, she earned a Master’s in Healthcare Management from Assumption College in Worcester, MA, further strengthening her leadership capabilities in integrated care settings. Her clinical journey has included roles across private group practices, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, community mental health centers, and medical and geriatric units. She has provided therapy to children, adolescents, young adults, couples, and families, consistently working within interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care.
In her current role at Epiphany Wellness as a Primary Therapist in the newly launched Mental Health Division, Susan brings a wealth of experience and a deep respect for client resilience. She provides individual and group therapy for clients with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, conducts comprehensive assessments, develops individualized treatment and crisis plans, and collaborates closely with colleagues to ensure continuity of care.
Even early in her tenure at Epiphany, Susan has already made a meaningful impact by drawing on her extensive background in trauma-informed care, ethical practice, and strength-based treatment. She is deeply aligned with Epiphany Wellness’s mission to deliver ethical, individualized care grounded in evidence-based approaches, and is dedicated to building therapeutic relationships that foster healing, resilience, and long-term recovery.
Susan is continually inspired by the courage and perseverance of those she serves. She believes deeply in the possibility of recovery, even in the face of overwhelming adversity, and finds profound fulfillment in supporting clients as they reclaim their lives and rediscover their strengths.
Outside of her clinical work, Susan prioritizes self-care through movement, creativity, and connection. She starts most mornings with a boot camp workout and enjoys hiking and nature walks with her Shih Tzu, Bella. Meditation, prayer, and reading offer her moments of peace and reflection, while making art provides a creative outlet for personal expression. Time with family and close friends nourishes her spirit and helps her remain grounded and present—both personally and professionally.
